D7 Networks MCP server

Read D7 Networks balance, SMS pricing and delivery status; look up numbers; send one SMS. Hosted by usefulapi — connect from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client.

Claude claude.ai · Desktop

  1. Open Customize → Connectors, then click + Add → Add custom connector.
  2. Enter the name D7 Networks and this URL, then click Add:
    https://d7-networks.usefulapi.io/mcp
  3. Claude opens the login page: enter your D7 Networks API token.
  4. In a chat, click + → Connectors and turn on D7 Networks.

Team and Enterprise: an Owner adds the connector for the organization first.

Claude Code

Run this command, then run /mcp in Claude Code to log in:

claude mcp add --transport http d7-networks https://d7-networks.usefulapi.io/mcp

Cursor

Add to Cursor or add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "d7-networks": {
      "url": "https://d7-networks.usefulapi.io/mcp"
    }
  }
}

VS Code

Add to VS Code or add this to .vscode/mcp.json:

{
  "servers": {
    "d7-networks": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://d7-networks.usefulapi.io/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Other MCP clients (Windsurf, Cline, Zed and more): add the URL as a remote MCP server (Streamable HTTP). The client then opens the login page in your browser. Do not add an Authorization header: see Before you connect.

Before you connect

The login page asks for your D7 Networks API token.

Create a token in the D7 dashboard (app.d7networks.com) under API Tokens (create an app, then Generate auth token) and paste the whole token. Your token is used only to call the D7 API on your behalf; it is never shown to anyone. Free trial accounts can only send with D7's demo sender id; other sender ids must be registered with D7.

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config. The server signs you in with OAuth: the login page asks for your D7 Networks API token. If the config has such a header, remove it: some clients then send that header instead of the login token, and every call fails with 401.

Tools 10

ToolTypeWhat it does
d7_get_balanceread
Get credit balance
Read the D7 account's remaining credit balance (free; no credit is spent). D7 REST: GET /messages/v1/balance.
d7_get_sms_pricingread
Get SMS pricing
Read the account's price per SMS part, for one country or for all countries (free; no credit is spent). Use it to estimate the cost before d7_send_sms. D7 REST: GET /messages/v1/sms/pricing.
d7_get_message_statusread
Get SMS delivery status
Read the delivery status of an SMS request: per recipient the status (delivered, sent, scheduled, un_delivered, not_reachable, spam_content, insufficient_credit), message parts and cost (free). D7 REST: GET /report/v1/message-log/{request_id}.
d7_get_lookup_reportread
Get number lookup report
Read the stored result of an earlier number lookup by its request_id (free; no credit is spent). D7 REST: GET /hlr/v1/report/{request_id}.
d7_lookup_numberwrite
Look up a phone number (costs credits)
WRITE (spends credits): look up ONE phone number's carrier data (country, network, MCC/MNC, ported, reachable, mobile or fixed). Each lookup is billed to the D7 account's credit balance (the cost is returned by d7_get_lookup_report as number_lookup_cost) and the account must have lookup routing enabled. It does not message the number. D7 REST: POST /hlr/v1/lookup.
d7_send_smswrite
Send an SMS (spends credits)
WRITE (sends real text messages and spends credits): send ONE text message to 1-10 recipients (never a list or campaign). Each recipient costs the per-country price for every message part (about 160 GSM characters or 70 unicode characters per part; see d7_get_sms_pricing), taken from the D7 credit balance, and a sent SMS cannot be recalled. Free trial accounts may only use D7's demo sender id; other sender ids must be registered with D7. Send only messages the recipients expect, as unsolicited SMS violates D7's terms. Returns a request_id for d7_get_message_status. D7 REST: POST /messages/v1/send.
d7_usage_statusmeta
Usage status (free-tier meter)
Report the caller's current free-tier usage this month: calls used, monthly limit, remaining, and whether the cap is reached. Read-only; does not count against the meter.
d7_request_featuremeta
Request a missing feature
Tell usefulapi that the user needs something the D7 Networks tools cannot do yet (a missing tool, field or filter). Call it only when the user asks for something none of the tools can do, and tell the user that you send the request. Do not call it for errors or for normal requests. Do not include personal data, credentials or customer records. Stored with the product name and the client type (for example Claude or Cursor), without the user's account. At most 5 requests per day. Does not count against the meter.
d7_upgrademeta
Upgrade to Pro (unlimited)
Subscribe to the Pro plan for UNLIMITED D7 Networks tool calls (the free tier caps monthly usage). Choose monthly ($9/month) or yearly ($90/year — 2 months free) billing. Returns a Stripe Checkout link to open in your browser; after payment your account upgrades automatically. Does not count against the meter.
d7_cancel_subscriptionmeta
Cancel the Pro subscription
Cancel the caller's D7 Networks Pro subscription at the end of the paid period (no refund for the current period; unlimited calls continue until then, then the free tier applies). Requires confirm: true. Run d7_upgrade later to undo the cancel before the period ends. Does not count against the meter.

Pro covers this D7 Networks server only. Subscribe with d7_upgrade (it returns a Stripe Checkout link). Cancel any time with d7_cancel_subscription: Pro continues to the end of the paid period, with no refund for the current period, and running d7_upgrade before then undoes the cancel. FAQ

Is this an official D7 Networks product?

No. usefulapi is an independent service. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by D7 Networks. The server calls the D7 Networks API with your own D7 Networks access, so it sees only the data that your account can see.

What do I need to connect?

The login page asks for your D7 Networks API token. See Before you connect for where to find it.

Do I put my D7 Networks key or an Authorization header in the client config?

No. Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config. The server signs you in with OAuth: the login page asks for your D7 Networks API token. If the config has such a header, remove it: some clients then send that header instead of the login token, and every call fails with 401.

How do you keep my D7 Networks credentials?

The login stores them encrypted in the authorization grant of your connection. The server uses them to call the D7 Networks API for you and to derive a private account id for usage metering. usefulapi does not show them on any page or in any reply. To stop all access, remove the connector and change or delete these credentials in D7 Networks.

Can the AI change my D7 Networks data?

Yes, if you approve it. 2 of the 6 D7 Networks tools can create or change data. The other 4 are marked read-only. Most MCP clients ask you to approve a tool call before it runs.

What does it cost?

The Free plan gives 100 tool calls / month. Pro costs $9/mo or $90/yr, with unlimited tool calls, for this D7 Networks server only. Run d7_usage_status to see how many calls you used.

How do I subscribe or cancel?

Ask the AI to run d7_upgrade: it returns a Stripe Checkout link. To cancel, run d7_cancel_subscription. Pro continues to the end of the paid period.

What if a D7 Networks tool that I need is missing?

Tell the AI what you wanted to do. It can send the request with d7_request_feature. We store the text with the server name, the type of AI client and the tool you tried, not with your account, and read every request when we plan new tools. You can send up to 5 requests per day.

Which AI clients can I use?

Any client that supports remote MCP servers (Streamable HTTP) with OAuth login: Claude (web and desktop), Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf and others.

This is a Model Context Protocol endpoint — meant to be connected from an AI client, not opened in a browser. An invalid_token response at the URL is the auth gate working as designed; clients authenticate automatically.
