MCP server for SuperPhone — contacts, conversations, tags and consent-based text messages. For business teams using SuperPhone for consent-based customer texting. Hosted by usefulapi — connect from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any MCP client.
Team and Enterprise: an Owner adds the connector for the organization first.
Run this command, then run /mcp in Claude Code to log in:

Run these commands. The second one opens the login page:
Other MCP clients (Windsurf, Cline, Zed and more): add the URL as a remote MCP server (Streamable HTTP). The client then opens the login page in your browser. Do not add an Authorization header: see Before you connect.
List conversations and inspect a selected conversation and its messages.
superphone_list_conversations superphone_get_conversation
Find a contact by email or phone number and review its details and tags.
superphone_find_contact superphone_get_contact
Add or remove tags on a selected contact. Tags may trigger automations configured in your SuperPhone account.
Changes data · superphone_add_contact_tags superphone_remove_contact_tags
Review the contact and conversation, confirm consent and opt-out status, then send a requested text. This sends a real message from your connected number.

The login page asks for your Superphone API key.
Find it in Superphone -> Settings -> Public API key (app.superphone.io/settings/public-api-key); generate one there if you have none. The key can read your contacts and conversations and send texts from your number, so only share it with assistants you trust. Requested contacts, conversations and message content passes to your chosen AI client and its LLM provider. Six write tools create/update contacts, add/remove tags, record purchases, or send a text from your number; recording a purchase does not charge a card. Send texts only to recipients who have consented and inspect current opt-out flags first. Updating a contact reads then writes it and may race with other edits; review changes in SuperPhone. Regenerate the key in SuperPhone to stop vendor access. Billing follows the verified user ID and survives key rotation.
Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config. The server signs you in with OAuth: the login page asks for your Superphone API key. If the config has such a header, remove it: some clients then send that header instead of the login token, and every call fails with 401.
Turn on the SuperPhone connector, then ask in plain words. The AI picks the tools.
| Tool | Type | What it does |
|---|---|---|
superphone_get_account | read | Get account The Superphone account behind the API key: user id, email, name, the business phone numbers (number, default/active flags, short code) and notification preferences. GraphQL query `me`. |
superphone_list_contacts | read | List contacts List the SMS contacts (the subscriber list) with name, mobile, email, company, VIP/hidden/archived/unsubscribed/opted-out flags, total spent, creation date and tags (up to 20). Oldest first; page with next_cursor. `total` is the size of the whole list. GraphQL query `contacts`. |
superphone_get_contact | read | Get contact One contact by id with every profile field, tags, custom contributions (recorded purchases) and its latest 10 conversations (ids to read with superphone_get_conversation). GraphQL query `contact`. |
superphone_find_contact | read | Find contact by mobile or email Find one contact by exact mobile number or email address (give at least one; E.164 such as +12132679977 is best). Returns the full contact or null when none matches. GraphQL query `contactByIdentifier`. |
superphone_list_conversations | read | List conversations List text conversations (the inbox): id, participant number, platform (TWILIO = SMS, FACEBOOK = Messenger), hidden/archived flags, creation date and the contact. Page with next_cursor. Read the messages of one with superphone_get_conversation. GraphQL query `conversations`. |
superphone_get_conversation | read | Get conversation messages One conversation with its most recent messages (default 20, newest last): body, from/to, direction (INCOMING_TEXT, OUTGOING_TEXT, SYSTEM, calls), delivery status, errors and media. To read older messages pass `before` = the previous reply's previous_cursor. GraphQL query `conversation`. |
superphone_get_message | read | Get message One message by id: body, from/to, direction, delivery status, error and media. GraphQL query `message`. |
superphone_list_forms | read | List sign-up forms List the sign-up (opt-in) forms: id, public hashId, domain, titles, opt-in text flag, optional fields, redirect URL, default and enabled flags. GraphQL query `forms`. |
superphone_get_form | read | Get sign-up form One sign-up form by id, or the account's default form when form_id is omitted. GraphQL queries `form` / `defaultForm`. |
superphone_list_webhooks | read | List webhooks List the configured webhooks: id, destination URL, active flag and subscribed events (CONTACT_ADDED, CONTACT_UPDATED, CONTACT_TAGS_CHANGED, MESSAGE_RECEIVED, MESSAGE_SENT, MESSAGE_STATUS_UPDATED). GraphQL query `webhooks`. |
superphone_search_numbers | read | Search available phone numbers Search phone numbers that could be bought for the account, optionally starting with some digits (for example an area code), with their price. Read-only: this tool never buys a number. GraphQL query `searchNumbers`. |
superphone_create_contact | write | Create contact WRITE: create a contact (first name required; add a mobile number or email so it can be reached). Creating a contact does not send it a message. Returns the new contact. GraphQL mutation `createContact`. |
superphone_update_contact | write | Update contact WRITE: change fields of an existing contact. Only the fields you pass change: the tool first reads the contact and sends the full record back with your changes (the API requires the first name on every update). Pass an empty string to clear a text field. Returns the updated contact. GraphQL mutation `updateContact`. |
superphone_add_contact_tags | write | Add tags to contact WRITE: apply tags to a contact, by name (a new name creates the tag) or by tag id. Tags can drive automations in Superphone. Returns the contact with its tags. GraphQL mutations `addContactTagsByNames` / `addContactTags`. |
superphone_remove_contact_tags | write | Remove tags from contact WRITE: remove tags from a contact, by name or by tag id. This can take the contact out of tag-driven segments and automations. Returns the contact with its remaining tags. GraphQL mutations `removeContactTagsByNames` / `removeContactTags`. |
superphone_add_contribution | write | Record a purchase (custom contribution) WRITE: record a purchase or donation against a contact (name, amount, date). It adds to the contact's total spent and cannot be undone with this server. Returns the new contribution. GraphQL mutation `createCustomContribution`. |
superphone_send_message | write | Send a text message WRITE, IRREVERSIBLE: send a real text message to a customer from the account's number. It is delivered immediately, uses the account's messaging credits and cannot be recalled. Only send what the user explicitly asked for, to the number they named, and never to contacts who unsubscribed or opted out. Give exactly one of conversation_id (reply in an existing conversation) or mobile (a number, ideally E.164 like +12132679977; without a country code Superphone assumes the US). Returns the new message id. GraphQL mutation `sendMessage`. |
superphone_usage_status | Usage status (free-tier meter) Report the caller's current usage: the plan, calls used this month, the limit of the plan (the free monthly cap or the Pro fair use limit), remaining, and whether the limit is reached. Read-only; does not count against the meter. | |
superphone_request_feature | Request a missing feature Tell usefulapi that the user needs something the Superphone tools cannot do yet (a missing tool, field or filter). Call it only when the user asks for something none of the tools can do, and tell the user that you send the request. Do not call it for errors or for normal requests. Do not include personal data, credentials or customer records. Stored with the product name and the client type (for example Claude or Cursor), without the user's account. At most 5 requests per day. Does not count against the meter. | |
superphone_upgrade | Upgrade to Pro (unlimited*) Get Pro: unlimited tool calls (fair use limit: 10,000 a month) on Superphone (the free tier caps monthly usage). Plans: "monthly" — $9/month; "yearly" — $90/year (2 months free). Cancel any time: Pro then runs to the end of the paid period, so it also suits a one-time job. *A fair use limit applies. For heavy use (near Pro's limit): "plus" or "plus_yearly" — Pro+, $39/month or $390/year, unlimited tool calls (fair use limit: 100,000 a month); an existing Pro subscription changes to Pro+ in place (needs confirm: true; the price difference for the rest of the period is charged at once). Otherwise returns a short link to open in your browser (it opens Stripe Checkout); after payment the account upgrades automatically. Does not count against the meter. | |
superphone_cancel_subscription | Cancel the Pro subscription Cancel the caller's Superphone Pro subscription at the end of the paid period (no refund for the current period; Pro continues until then, then the free tier applies). Requires confirm: true. Run superphone_upgrade later to undo the cancel before the period ends. Does not count against the meter. |
| Plan | Price | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 50 tool calls / month |
| Proper verified SuperPhone user | $9/mo · $90/yr | Unlimited* |
*Pro fair use limit: 10,000 tool calls a month on this server. For more, write to [email protected].
Pro covers this SuperPhone server only. Subscribe with superphone_upgrade (it returns a Stripe Checkout link). Cancel any time with superphone_cancel_subscription: Pro continues to the end of the paid period, with no refund for the current period, and running superphone_upgrade before then undoes the cancel. Or write to [email protected].

No. usefulapi is an independent service. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by SuperPhone. The server calls the SuperPhone API with your own SuperPhone access, so it sees only the data that your account can see.
Yes. In Claude, add this server's URL as a custom connector. In ChatGPT, add it as a custom MCP server in Plugins. Then log in once. Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code and Codex work too. See the setup steps.
The login page asks for your Superphone API key. See Before you connect for where to find it.
No. Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config. The server signs you in with OAuth: the login page asks for your Superphone API key. If the config has such a header, remove it: some clients then send that header instead of the login token, and every call fails with 401.
The login stores them encrypted in the authorization grant of your connection. The server uses them to call the SuperPhone API for you and to derive a private account id for usage metering. usefulapi does not show them on any page or in any reply. To stop all access, remove the connector and change or delete these credentials in SuperPhone.
Yes, if you approve it. 6 of the 17 SuperPhone tools can create or change data. The other 11 are marked read-only. Most MCP clients ask you to approve a tool call before it runs.
The Free plan gives 50 tool calls / month. Pro costs $9/mo or $90/yr, with unlimited tool calls (fair use limit: 10,000 tool calls a month), for this SuperPhone server only. Cancel any time: Pro then runs to the end of the paid period. Run superphone_usage_status to see how many calls you used.
Ask the AI to run superphone_upgrade: it returns a Stripe Checkout link. To cancel, run superphone_cancel_subscription. Pro continues to the end of the paid period.
Tell the AI what you wanted to do. It can send the request with superphone_request_feature. We store the text with the server name, the type of AI client and the tool you tried, not with your account, and read every request when we plan new tools. You can send up to 5 requests per day.
Any client that supports remote MCP servers (Streamable HTTP) with OAuth login: Claude (web and desktop), Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf and others.
This is a Model Context Protocol endpoint — meant to be connected from an AI client, not opened in a browser. An invalid_token response at the URL is the auth gate working as designed; clients authenticate automatically.
