Before you connect

The login page asks for your Client ID, Client secret, tpl GUID and User Login ID.

Your warehouse needs an API package and Support Portal access. Create an External REST/Developer credential under Support → Manage Credentials, or ask your Customer Success Manager if that page is unavailable. Prefer a key scoped to the intended customer; the API user’s ordinary permissions do not limit the API key. Requested warehouse and buyer records pass to your chosen AI client and its LLM provider. When requested, tools can submit outbound orders for picking and shipping or irreversibly cancel an eligible order, potentially with a cancellation fee. Revoke the API credential in Extensiv to stop vendor access. Billing follows the verified tpl GUID and User Login ID. UsefulAPI acts as your API service provider under the Extensiv confidentiality provision in our Terms.

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config. The server signs you in with OAuth: the login page asks for your Client ID, Client secret, tpl GUID and User Login ID. If the config has such a header, remove it: some clients then send that header instead of the login token, and every call fails with 401.

Example prompts

Turn on the Extensiv connector, then ask in plain words. The AI picks the tools.

Tools 20

ToolTypeWhat it does
extensiv_list_facilitiesread
List facilities
List the warehouse's facilities with their ids and properties (facility ids are needed for orders, stock details and receivers). GET /properties/facilities.
extensiv_list_carriersread
List carriers and services
List the carriers with their shipment services (modes) and billing codes, the values an order's routingInfo and billingCode must use. GET /properties/carriers.
extensiv_list_customersread
List customers
List the warehouse's customers (the companies whose goods it stores), with their customer ids. GET /customers.
extensiv_get_customerread
Get a customer
One customer by customer id: company info, contacts and settings. GET /customers/{customer_id}.
extensiv_list_itemsread
List a customer's items
List the items (SKUs) of one customer, with item ids, descriptions and units. Filter with rql, for example `sku==ABC-1`. GET /customers/{customer_id}/items.
extensiv_list_ordersread
List orders
List outbound orders matching an RQL filter, for example `ReadOnly.CustomerIdentifier.id==1` or `readonly.processDate=gt=2026-10-01T00:00:00` (orders closed after that time). Use detail=OrderItems to include the line items. Orders carry the ship-to name, address and contact details (personal data). GET /orders.
extensiv_get_orderread
Get an order
One order by its transaction id (the order id from extensiv_list_orders): status, ship-to, routing, and with detail=OrderItems the lines. GET /orders/{transaction_id}.
extensiv_list_stock_summariesread
List stock summaries
Inventory totals per item and facility (on hand, allocated, available). Filter with rql, for example `ItemId==123` or a customer filter. GET /inventory/stocksummaries.
extensiv_list_inventoryread

Inventory detail lines (location, lot, quantities). Filter with rql, for example `itemIdentifier.sku==SF-Box-DG`. GET /inventory.
extensiv_list_stock_detailsread

extensiv_list_receiversread
List receivers
List inbound receivers (receipts of goods), for example `ReadOnly.CustomerIdentifier.id==1`. Use detail=ReceiveItems for the lines. GET /inventory/receivers.
extensiv_get_receiverread
Get a receiver
One receiver by its transaction id. GET /inventory/receivers/{transaction_id}.
extensiv_list_receiver_itemsread
List a receiver's items
The line items of one receiver, with item details. GET /inventory/receivers/{transaction_id}/items.
extensiv_list_purchase_ordersread
List purchase orders
List inbound purchase orders per customer. Filter with rql, sort with sort. GET /inventory/pos.
extensiv_create_orderwrite
Create an order
WRITE: submit a new outbound order for a customer and facility (the warehouse will pick and ship it). Not idempotent: calling twice creates two orders, so check extensiv_list_orders for the reference_num first. Needs ids from extensiv_list_customers, extensiv_list_facilities and SKUs from extensiv_list_items; billing_code, carrier and mode are required by Extensiv and must come from extensiv_list_carriers. POST /orders.
extensiv_cancel_orderwrite
Cancel an order
WRITE: cancel one order by transaction id, with a reason and an optional cancellation fee. This cannot be undone; the order must be in a state the warehouse can still cancel (otherwise Extensiv answers with an error). The tool first reads the order to get the ETag Extensiv requires (If-Match). POST /orders/{transaction_id}/canceler.
extensiv_usage_statusmeta
Usage status (free-tier meter)
Report the caller's current usage: the plan, calls used this month, the limit of the plan (the free monthly cap or the Pro fair use limit), remaining, and whether the limit is reached. Read-only; does not count against the meter.
extensiv_request_featuremeta
Request a missing feature
Tell usefulapi that the user needs something the Extensiv tools cannot do yet (a missing tool, field or filter). Call it only when the user asks for something none of the tools can do, and tell the user that you send the request. Do not call it for errors or for normal requests. Do not include personal data, credentials or customer records. Stored with the product name and the client type (for example Claude or Cursor), without the user's account. At most 5 requests per day. Does not count against the meter.
extensiv_upgrademeta
Upgrade to Pro (unlimited*)
Get Pro: unlimited tool calls (fair use limit: 10,000 a month) on Extensiv (the free tier caps monthly usage). Plans: "monthly" — $9/month; "yearly" — $90/year (2 months free). Cancel any time: Pro then runs to the end of the paid period, so it also suits a one-time job. *A fair use limit applies. For heavy use (near Pro's limit): "plus" or "plus_yearly" — Pro+, $39/month or $390/year, unlimited tool calls (fair use limit: 100,000 a month); an existing Pro subscription changes to Pro+ in place (needs confirm: true; the price difference for the rest of the period is charged at once). Otherwise returns a short link to open in your browser (it opens Stripe Checkout); after payment the account upgrades automatically. Does not count against the meter.
extensiv_cancel_subscriptionmeta
Cancel the Pro subscription
Cancel the caller's Extensiv Pro subscription at the end of the paid period (no refund for the current period; Pro continues until then, then the free tier applies). Requires confirm: true. Run extensiv_upgrade later to undo the cancel before the period ends. Does not count against the meter.

FAQ

What can I do with Extensiv in Claude or ChatGPT?

Review outbound orders. Check stock by facility. Inspect inbound receipts. Submit an outbound order. See what you can do for the details.

Is this an official Extensiv product?

No. usefulapi is an independent service. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Extensiv. The server calls the Extensiv API with your own Extensiv access, so it sees only the data that your account can see.

Can I connect Extensiv to Claude or ChatGPT?

Yes. In Claude, add this server's URL as a custom connector. In ChatGPT, add it as a custom MCP server in Plugins. Then log in once. Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code and Codex work too. See the setup steps.

What do I need to connect?

The login page asks for your Client ID, Client secret, tpl GUID and User Login ID. See Before you connect for where to find them.

Do I put my Extensiv key or an Authorization header in the client config?

No.

How do you keep my Extensiv credentials?

The login stores them encrypted in the authorization grant of your connection. The server uses them to call the Extensiv API for you and to derive a private account id for usage metering. usefulapi does not show them on any page or in any reply. To stop all access, remove the connector and change or delete these credentials in Extensiv.

Can the AI change my Extensiv data?

Yes, if you approve it. 2 of the 16 Extensiv tools can create or change data. The other 14 are marked read-only. Most MCP clients ask you to approve a tool call before it runs.

What does it cost?

The Free plan gives 50 tool calls / month. Pro costs $9/mo or $90/yr, with unlimited tool calls (fair use limit: 10,000 tool calls a month), for this Extensiv server only. Cancel any time: Pro then runs to the end of the paid period. Run extensiv_usage_status to see how many calls you used.

How do I subscribe or cancel?

Ask the AI to run extensiv_upgrade: it returns a Stripe Checkout link. To cancel, run extensiv_cancel_subscription. Pro continues to the end of the paid period.

What if a Extensiv tool that I need is missing?

Tell the AI what you wanted to do. It can send the request with extensiv_request_feature. We store the text with the server name, the type of AI client and the tool you tried, not with your account, and read every request when we plan new tools. You can send up to 5 requests per day.

Which AI clients can I use?

Any client that supports remote MCP servers (Streamable HTTP) with OAuth login: Claude (web and desktop), Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf and others.

This is a Model Context Protocol endpoint — meant to be connected from an AI client, not opened in a browser. An invalid_token response at the URL is the auth gate working as designed; clients authenticate automatically.
