What you can do with AgencyZoom in Claude and ChatGPT

For insurance agencies that run sales, service and client follow-up in AgencyZoom.

See the sales leads and their assigned producers

Search the sales leads with filters. Read the status, stage and assigned producer of each lead, and match the producer ids with the employee list.

Find a customer and list the policies

Search customers by name. Open a customer to read the contact data, then list the policies with carrier, premium, dates and status.

Review the tasks that are past due

Search the tasks for the past-due period and read who owns each one. Open a task to read its notes and the lead or customer it belongs to.

Log a call and create a follow-up task

Add a note with the outcome of a call to a lead. Then create a follow-up task for the same lead. AgencyZoom may notify the assignee.

Changes data

Move a lead to the next pipeline stage

Read the pipeline stages and the lead first. Then move an active lead to another stage. The move refuses leads that are already won, lost or x-dated.

Changes data

Check sales against the goals

Read the dashboard sales summary for the agency or one producer. See the goals, month-to-date sales and the daily premium for the period.

How do I connect AgencyZoom?

Before you connect

The login page asks for your AgencyZoom e-mail and AgencyZoom password.

This uses AgencyZoom’s documented REST email/password login; its Zapier key/secret is a separate connector. Prefer a dedicated authorized user with only the access you need and employee-directory permission. Your credentials are encrypted in your connection. Leads, policy details, notes and tasks returned by tools are sent to your connected AI provider. Disable the user or change its password to stop new logins; an already issued JWT may remain valid until it expires or AgencyZoom revokes it. Disconnect UsefulAPI to stop this connection. The API allows 120 calls/minute. API reference.

  3. ChatGPT opens the login page: enter your AgencyZoom e-mail and AgencyZoom password.
  4. In Plugins, install AgencyZoom, then choose it in a chat.

No Add custom MCP server option? It depends on your account or workspace settings: see OpenAI's guide.

Claude Code

Run this command, then run /mcp in Claude Code to log in:

claude mcp add --transport http agencyzoom https://agencyzoom.usefulapi.io/mcp

Cursor

Add to Cursor or add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "agencyzoom": {
      "url": "https://agencyzoom.usefulapi.io/mcp"
    }
  }
}

VS Code

Add to VS Code or add this to .vscode/mcp.json:

{
  "servers": {
    "agencyzoom": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://agencyzoom.usefulapi.io/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Codex

Run these commands. The second one opens the login page:

codex mcp add agencyzoom --url https://agencyzoom.usefulapi.io/mcp
codex mcp login agencyzoom

Other clients

Windsurf, Cline, Zed and other MCP clients: add this URL as a remote MCP server (Streamable HTTP). The client then opens the login page in your browser.

https://agencyzoom.usefulapi.io/mcp

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config. The server signs you in with OAuth: the login page asks for your AgencyZoom e-mail and AgencyZoom password. If the config has such a header, remove it: some clients then send that header instead of the login token, and every call fails with 401.

  • Create leadagencyzoom_create_lead
    WRITE: create a new sales lead in a pipeline stage. AgencyZoom requires the pipeline and stage (agencyzoom_list_pipelines), first name, e-mail, lead source, assigned producer and country. Creating a lead can trigger the agency's own automations (assignment, tasks, e-mails) in AgencyZoom. Not idempotent: calling twice creates two leads, so search first (agencyzoom_search_leads by e-mail or phone).
  • Add lead noteagencyzoom_add_lead_note
    WRITE: add a note to a lead's activity feed (visible to the agency's users; AgencyZoom does not send it to the customer). Not idempotent: calling twice adds two notes.
  • Add customer noteagencyzoom_add_customer_note
    WRITE: add a note to a customer's activity feed (visible to the agency's users; AgencyZoom does not send it to the customer). Not idempotent: calling twice adds two notes.
  • Create taskagencyzoom_create_task
    WRITE: create a task (to-do, call, e-mail or meeting) linked to a lead or customer, optionally assigned to an employee. The assignee may be notified by AgencyZoom. Link it with lead_id or customer_id (or contact_email, which AgencyZoom matches to a lead or customer). Not idempotent: calling twice creates two tasks.
  • Complete taskagencyzoom_complete_task
    WRITE: mark a task as completed. Repeated calls may repeat notifications or automations; undo with agencyzoom_reopen_task.
  • Reopen taskagencyzoom_reopen_task
    WRITE: reopen a completed task, optionally with a comment. Repeated calls may repeat notifications or automations.
  • Move lead to a stageagencyzoom_move_lead_stage
    WRITE: move an active lead (a status check refuses leads already won, lost or x-dated) to another stage of a lead pipeline (workflow_id and workflow_stage_id from agencyzoom_list_pipelines). The lead stays active: it does not mark the lead won, lost or x-dated. Moving into a stage can trigger the agency's automations. The read and update are not atomic: a concurrent status change can be overwritten and reactivate a lead. Do not use while another process changes the same lead. Automations may repeat on repeated calls.
  • Create service ticketagencyzoom_create_service_ticket
    WRITE: open a service ticket for a customer in a service pipeline stage. Needs the pipeline and stage (agencyzoom_list_pipelines with type 'service'), a priority and a category (agencyzoom_list_service_ticket_options). The assigned CSR may be notified, and the agency's service automations can run. Not idempotent: calling twice opens two tickets.

Your usefulapi plan · 4

  • Usage status (free-tier meter)agencyzoom_usage_status
    Report the caller's current usage: the plan, calls used this month, the limit of the plan (the free monthly cap or the Pro fair use limit), remaining, and whether the limit is reached. Read-only; does not count against the meter.
  • Request a missing featureagencyzoom_request_feature
    Tell usefulapi that the user needs something the AgencyZoom tools cannot do yet (a missing tool, field or filter). Call it only when the user asks for something none of the tools can do, and tell the user that you send the request. Do not call it for errors or for normal requests. Do not include personal data, credentials or customer records. Stored with the product name and the client type (for example Claude or Cursor), without the user's account. At most 5 requests per day. Does not count against the meter.
  • Upgrade to Pro or Pro+agencyzoom_upgrade
    Get a paid plan for AgencyZoom (the free tier caps monthly usage). Pro: 10,000 tool calls a month, for normal use — plan "monthly" ($9/month) or "yearly" ($90/year, 2 months free). Pro+: 100,000 tool calls a month, for automations and heavy use — plan "plus" ($39/month) or "plus_yearly" ($390/year). Without a plan it returns both Pro and Pro+, each with a payment link, for the user to choose; with a plan, one link. An existing Pro subscription changes to Pro+ in place (needs confirm: true; the price difference for the rest of the period is charged at once). Cancel any time: the plan then runs to the end of the paid period, so it also suits a one-time job. A link opens Stripe Checkout in the browser; after payment the account upgrades automatically. Does not count against the meter.
  • Cancel the Pro subscriptionagencyzoom_cancel_subscription
    Cancel the caller's AgencyZoom Pro subscription at the end of the paid period (no refund for the current period; Pro continues until then, then the free tier applies). Requires confirm: true. Run agencyzoom_upgrade later to undo the cancel before the period ends. Does not count against the meter.

FAQ

What can I do with AgencyZoom in Claude or ChatGPT?

See the sales leads and their assigned producers. Find a customer and list the policies. Review the tasks that are past due. Log a call and create a follow-up task. Move a lead to the next pipeline stage. Check sales against the goals. See what you can do for the details.

Is this an official AgencyZoom product?

No. usefulapi is an independent service. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by AgencyZoom. The server calls the AgencyZoom API with your own AgencyZoom access, so it sees only the data that your account can see.

Can I connect AgencyZoom to Claude or ChatGPT?

Yes. In Claude, add this server's URL as a custom connector. In ChatGPT, add it as a custom MCP server in Plugins. Then log in once. Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code and Codex work too. See the setup steps.

What do I need to connect?

The login page asks for your AgencyZoom e-mail and AgencyZoom password. See Before you connect for where to find them.

Do I put my AgencyZoom key or an Authorization header in the client config?

No.

How do you keep my AgencyZoom credentials?

The login stores them encrypted in the authorization grant of your connection. The server uses them to call the AgencyZoom API for you and to derive a private account id for usage metering. usefulapi does not show them on any page or in any reply. To stop all access, remove the connector and change or delete these credentials in AgencyZoom.

Can the AI change my AgencyZoom data?

Yes, if you approve it. 8 of the 28 AgencyZoom tools can create or change data. The other 20 are marked read-only. Most MCP clients ask you to approve a tool call before it runs.

What does it cost?

The Free plan gives 50 tool calls / month. Pro costs $9/mo or $90/yr, with unlimited tool calls (fair use limit: 10,000 tool calls a month), for this AgencyZoom server only. Cancel any time: Pro then runs to the end of the paid period. Run agencyzoom_usage_status to see how many calls you used.

How do I subscribe or cancel?

Ask the AI to run agencyzoom_upgrade: it returns a Stripe Checkout link. To cancel, run agencyzoom_cancel_subscription. Pro continues to the end of the paid period.

What if a AgencyZoom tool that I need is missing?

Tell the AI what you wanted to do. It can send the request with agencyzoom_request_feature. We store the text with the server name, the type of AI client and the tool you tried, not with your account, and read every request when we plan new tools. You can send up to 5 requests per day.

Which AI clients can I use?

Any client that supports remote MCP servers (Streamable HTTP) with OAuth login: Claude (web and desktop), Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf and others.

This is a Model Context Protocol endpoint — meant to be connected from an AI client, not opened in a browser. An invalid_token response at the URL is the auth gate working as designed; clients authenticate automatically.
